So much more than just free trade - EU and Canada launch comprehensive negotiations at their Summit in Prague

Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek and Commission President Jose Manual Barroso announced on May 6, 2009 the opening of negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and Canada.  The Summit Declaration is attached for your information. 

This is so much more than just a Free Trade Agreement and puts Canada and the EU on a path for the most comprehensive economic relationship Canada has with a country outside of the NAFTA area.
