EUCOCIT is a not for profit, volunteer association, affiliated to the European Delegation of the European Commission to Canada, in Ottawa and is dedicated to promoting bi-lateral trade and investment between Canada and the EU. EUCOCIT events and activities provide outstanding networking and marketing opportunities for companies looking to build awareness of their products and services to business leaders, decision-makers and potential buyers in Toronto and throughout Canada.
With the strength of 25 active member countries and associate members (and still growing) through their Toronto based Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations, we promote all events to an average 5,000 members; and through our associate members like CERT – Canada Europe Roundtable for Business and The International Forum of The Americas. In Europe we have a partnership with EUROCHAMBRES – The Association of European Chambers of Commerce & Industry with 19 million enterprises and 2000 regional Chambers in Europe, and we work closely with CEPS – Centre for European Policy Studies. Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek and Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso announced on May 6, 2009 the opening of negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and Canada. This is so much more than just a Free Trade Agreement and puts Canada and the EU on a path for the most comprehensive economic relationship Canada has with a country outside of the NAFTA EUCOCIT will be leading the way to explain how this will influence Canadian business to this vital market.
